Welcome back to Range Valley, population 855.
The McKinleys were in a bit of an odd time. David passed away, and Kelly found love on the rebound, which left her with a baby girl, Kitty. Jack was going to stay behind and help out, but with a uni just opened, and his age just within range, hard choices had to be made. And Jack applied.
“I’m sorry to leave you and mum and Kitty behind.”
“Don’t be stupid. You can’t give up an opportunity like this. We’ll be fine, I’m nearly an adult, I can get a job and help out.”
“Just call me if you need anything, okay?”
“Of course. Go have fun, and study hard.”
But Poppy still needed a moment to mourn her own future. She was permaplat, so it wasn’t the end of the world that she couldn’t go to uni, but it still felt like everything was going wrong.
Poppy put on a brave face, and she and her mother celebrated Kitty’s birthday.
Kitty looks a lot like her dad, and has the blonde hair brown eyes combo that I love so much.
We all know once birthdays start, they don’t stop. Kelly aged up the next day, not wanting any fanfare at all.
She then retired. With Kitty still small, Kelly wanted to be home to take care of her. Plus, she wasn’t going to put all the work on Poppy. That wasn’t fair.
Poppy’s birthday was next.
Get your nose out of the book for two minutes so I can take a look at you.
Beautiful. Poppy ditches the glasses for contacts, and restyles her hair for a more grown up, gentler look.
Poppy had a plan. She didn’t need uni. She was a scientist, formal education or not. She found a place in the science career, and applied. She would conduct her own studies, and she would show them just what Poppy McKinley was made of. But first, she needed to attract her subjects of study.
Apparently, they were only too happy to oblige.
“Wow! They’re very talkative people.”
Did you get the information you needed?
“I don’t think that’s all I got.”
“HRGGH! Definitely not all I got!”
“Still, they’re pretty cute when they’re little.”
“Higher! Go higher!”
Is Poppy shocked by the dog, or the baby bump? Science may never know.
“Guess what mum?”
“You’re pregnant? How? Who?”
“Yes. Stargazing. Aliens.”
David makes a visit to congratulate his younger daughter. Or attempt to kill her? I send Poppy to bed. I don’t need a pregnant woman being scared to death.
Kitty has her birthday, and grows into a very cute little girl. Who loves hugs with her big sister.
David is making himself known, and it’s starting to get annoying. We may need a graveyard a lot earlier than I had expected.
Right, how long could children dance together? This is so cute! Kitty brings Axel Akagi home, and the two dance together.
And share a little hug. So cute!
A very pregnant Poppy teaches Kitty to study. Well, why not ask the knowledge sim? They’re going to know more than the fortune sim!
But the ex-hall of famer is going to be able to teach you to throw a mean left hook.
And here we go! Poppy goes into labour.
“Here mum. You take him.”
Kelly holds her grandson, a redheaded boy named Cillian, because I love Cillian Murphy, especially in 28 Days Later, where he’s super skinny. I have a problem.
Anyway. Poppy also gives birth to Caoimhe (Kee-va), to continue to Irish theme.
As soon as it’s dark, she heads straight back outside.
Whilst Kelly and Kitty play chess. Kitty is mean, so she cheats. I love Kitty.
